A computer network is put in place to allow file and device sharing. There are a number of factors that we take into consideration as we work with our clients to design their networks. These factors include:
- What kind of files and devices are going to be shared on the network?
- What kind of security will be required on the network? Who will be allowed what kind of access to which files and devices?
- What kind of network is appropriate to allow fast and reliable file and device sharing among the network users? While we prefer a wired network structure for speed, reliability and security reasons, WiFi networking is also a critical part of the network design process.
- What kind of Internet access is available at the networking location?
These are the questions we work through with our clients during the Network System Design phase of a project.
